La Cienega, is the main artery of the Los Angeles interior design 'hood and home to a growing number of designer owned, eponymous boutiques. As if that were not enough of a draw, once a year it's host to 'Legends of La Cienega' - a 3 day event including, panel discussions, show room open houses and a walking tour of windows designed by celebrated designers. a few photos of the windows preceded by a few of their Style Sheets :

I was so honored to be asked by Waterworks to join two other California designers, Charles de Lisle and Erin Valencich on their panel, 'Sex Up Your Space' ( I know, I sort of exhaled and went for it ), moderated by the very witty and charming, Erin Feher of California Home + Design. And then afterward, headed over to Rose Tarlow Melrose House to see Brooke Gianetti of Velvet and Linen on the panel, 'Raising the Bar' a great discussion.
Don't forget, tomorrow marks the first day of, Legends of La Cienega, which runs through, Saturday, May 14th.
This annual event, in its third year. is a great opportunity to hear your favorite designers speak, attend panel events, check out the showrooms and see the beautiful windows created by top designers interpreting this year's theme, 'Legendary Artists'. I've seen the very beginnings of some of these windows, and this may be the best year yet.
"Legends of La Cienega is an annual celebration of design that brings together VIPs and tastemakers from the worlds of interior design, décor, art, fashion, and architecture for two days of receptions, keynote panel discussions, cocktail parties, book-signings, personal appearances, trunk shows, and special exhibitions."
check out the La Cienega Quarter's web site for more info. and links to sign up for the events. I'm planning on attending the breakfast hosted by Newell Turner (Editor -in-Chief @ House Beautiful) And the Power Lunch. In between all of the power eating, I'm going to hit a few panel discussions. All are open to the public, but you need to reserve a spot, as spaces are limited.
Btw....I'll be sitting on the panel at Waterworks (8580 Melrose) discussing how to, 'Sex up your space' You won't want to miss this.
(ahem.)

In case you missed Legends of La Cienega in the L.A. design quarter a few weeks ago; ELLE Decor has put up a great slide show of all of the windows created by the participating designers, representing their salute to the film industry.
Today the 20 participating, windows along the La Cienega corridor were unveiled to show the interpretations of popular Film and Television shows, as seen through some of the top Interior Decorators artistry . The window tour is just part of the Legends of La Cienega 2010, events that will take place over the next few days in Los Angeles' design quarter. If you're in the area, this is such a great opportunity to sit in on any one, or more, of the huge roster of panel discussions that will be running throughout the days to come. Do the walking tour of the windows, pop in on a panel discussion, have lunch, enjoy the scenery - all free to the public. I encourage everyone to take advantage of this design kick-off to summer. By the way, I'm told that many of the windows have special, lighting details that are best viewed in the evening. A few of my favorites.....
